The Capital Campaign is aimed at raising funds for desperately needed replacement of the HVAC system that supplies the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall and Loggia, replacement of 10 heat/air units in the Education Wing, replacement of exterior doors and repairs to the baptistry. All money raised during fundraising events go toward the campaign.

The work on the new AC units started a few weeks ago and work continues as the parts arrive. This Is your Capital Campaign donations in action. The Fellowship Hall, Loggia and Sanctuary will soon have cool air again. We are still a long way from our goal, please consider pledging and attending our fundraising events!

August is a challenging month. For some, they are excited for school to start back up and begin a new school year. For others, they sure would like a few more weeks of summer break! Either way, August is traditionally back to school month, with all kinds of sales and special events. Kids like to go and pick out their school supplies and backpack, parents are gearing up to buy new school clothes and shoes. So, there is a lot happening before the first day of school. We will celebrate our Back To School Sunday on Sunday, August 24, and have a fellowship meal after church.
Lavonna and I had a good time at General Assembly. I thought the Business Sessions, workshops, and worship events were all great. It was good to visit with friends and find great places to eat.
On another note, one of the things the Enid Disciple Churches have been talking about is to host a fellowship event together. We are going to start that with an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 20 as we invite all the Disciple Churches and send out invitations to the surrounding community. It should be a great fellowship time, so go ahead and make plans to come.
Summer is a time of vacations, family reunions, backyard bbq’s, and finding somewhere to swim. I hope your summer has been relaxing and enjoyable, something we could all use. So whatever you do, make it fun and enjoy some special time with those you love.

The information center in the Loggia (by the kitchen door) has the weekly announcements.
We also text or call (via call multiplier) reminders and other important information.

Central family, where are you?
The last seven months have been filled with events and opportunities to get together and celebrate being a church family.
Why haven’t I seen you there?
We had a tasting party, talent show, pancake supper, bake sales and a putt-putt tournament. We celebrated our mom’s and dad’s with food galore. We’ve had occasions for fellowship, for learning, for giving back, for volunteering and for just praying together.
Where have you been?
Still to come are events that need your presence. If you would like to help but you can’t stand for long periods...I’ve got an opportunity for you. Want to help but you need to be at home...I’ve got an opportunity for you. Want to attend but don’t drive at night, or at all...we have a bus and a driver. Want to come but the rest of your tribe doesn’t...take the chance to get to know other people better. Want to play, join or watch but don’t know us well enough? We want to know you better, we want you here too!
Think no one notices if your not here?
We miss you, each and every time. Someone in this big, beautiful family is so sorry that you aren’t here laughing with us, enjoying the company and the fellowship. Whatever your reason for not joining, let us in on it, give us the chance to help. We want a chance to meet the weekday you, the silly you, the “wow, I didn’t know they could do that” you.
