THANK YOU, JANE!!!!

Jane Adams has been doing our display windows in the Children's Library for over a year now. She changes them to fit every season, including VBS!! These displays are just wonderful and we all need to take a minute and go see the current display. Jane, thank you for doing all this hard work for EVERYONE in the church. It adds so much to the look of the church. God bless you.

CARD OF THANKS

I wish to thank everyone for your prayers and to John and Don along with the Caregivers for their visits while I was in the hospital with surgery recently.  I am happy to be part of such a fine group of Disciples.  Thanks for your love and consideration.
  Love to All,  Ed Carthel

RAFFLE FOR PERU

We are very close to having the total amount of money needed for the construction of the new school in Puno, Peru.  It is our goal to have this amount raised before the mission trip goes there in late August.  We will be selling raffle tickets at the Welcome Center for three beautiful alpaca sweaters that were made by the poor women of Puno.  Tickets are $2.00 apiece or 6 tickets for $10.00.  I know that right now it is hard to picture it being cold outside but winter will soon be here.  These sweaters are exceptionally warm for those cold winter days.  The tickets will be on sale for the next two Sundays.  All money received will go for the construction costs of this building.  Should we end up raising more than is needed for construction costs the remainder will go toward helping to furnish the new building.
We received word from Benjamin yesterday that construction began on the foundation for this building last week.  A copy of the plans for the school have been mailed and are on their way to Enid.   As soon as they arrive we will display them at the Welcome Center so that everyone can get a better idea of what the new school will look like.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this project.  Never did these parents imagine that their children would be able to go to a school like that of children whose parents had money.  This is truly a miracle for these people.  Thank you for making a difference in a child's life.
