SPECIAL GIFTS REPORT

This financial year funds from Memorial Gifts and funds from Special Gifts Trust Account have provided the following items for Central Christian Church:  a refrigerator for the sacristy (to safely store the communion 'wine' and bread from its preparation on Saturday until services on Sunday), church camp tuition for children, underwritten the cost of the pastor's baptism class retreat, underwrite the cost of improvements in the church office, purchase a new video camera to broadcast Sunday morning services, additional funds given for the Rebuild the Temple project, and also funds given to the Choir for which they used some to have a song written in memory of Peter Larrison as well as being able to bring in musicians for the cantatas, and purchasing music for the Adult Handbell Choir.

Building Modification Request Forms

Everyone is aware we are in the midst of major building renovation and improvements, all causes for great celebration.  In the process of installing new carpet, tile, electronic HVAC controls, renovating restrooms and installing new geothermal heating and air condition, we have determined a number of groups in the church are considering improving the spaces they normally occupy.  Sunday School classes, Kids Central, Children's ministries, Disciples Men and Youth all have "projects" in mind, as well as continuing "beautification" plans.
In an attempt to coordinate these efforts, make sure they are in line with our master plan and avoid redundancy and additional cost, the Board on June 15 will be presented with a proposed procedure for the approval of building improvements.  A Building Modification Request Form has been developed which will be required before any project is undertaken.
This is not an attempt to control or limit any individual or group effort.  Rather it is a means to collectively make improvements to our facility without risk of straying from the overall plan or doing work that will later have to be redone.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION…..

Did you know that you may give a financial gift for any reason at any time to the church and have the funds used for only one purpose that you designate.  There are all kinds of reasons to give a gift, traditionally memorial gifts are made to honor loved ones who have recently died.  Other reasons include:  to celebrate birth of a child, for surviving cancer another year, or for years of sobriety, to honor a living person, to remember a late loved ones birthday, or for reaching a weight loss goal.  You may state why you are giving the funds or you may keep the reason private by not giving any reason.  All you have to do is write out a check to the church then specify where the funds are to go on the memo line.  The board has approved a wide area of where Special Gifts can be received.  Some examples are a book for the Adult Library, Technology Reserve Fund, the Choir Reserve Fund, or Youth Programs and Mission Programs.  If you are unsure if there is a fund for what you want it spent on just call Stephanie or Don at the church and they will be glad to assist you in designating a fund to reflect your wishes.
