They faithfully call on the homebound, those in nursing homes and the hospitalized. Our two Caregiver groups made over 5,000 visits last year. (Yes, Five Thousand!!) Many times, I have been in nursing homes and hospitals and have heard their staff say: “Oh, you’re from Central. Your groups are so faithful in calling on people who are lonely or sick. You don’t know how much their frequent visits mean. Thank all the people at Central Christian Church for visiting. They make a difference.” Every time I hear these wonderful compliments about our Caregivers Groups, I smile, because so many people are blessed by their efforts. These visits benefit the homebound, those in nursing homes and in hospitals. The families of these people are also blessed, knowing that someone who cares, is visiting their loved one. In our worship service on Sunday October 10, we will honor the Caregivers. We want to thank them for their faithful volunteer efforts over the past years. Their handshakes, their hugs, their cards, their prayers, their reading the Bible has brought Jesus Christ into the lives of sick or lonely people in their most difficult times. THANK YOU CAREGIVERS!
