CWF MONTHLY MEETING
Wednesday, January 7

Our program for this month will be Janet Cordell, speaking on Medical Missions.  Janet has traveled and worked with this program for many years and has had many experiences.  The areas where she has traveled is to treat people who do not have an opportunity for medical care, or medicine.
This is a vital mission field and is a way for us to become a part of the work.  She will be taking medicines with her this year, and this is a chance for you to clean out your medicine cabinet of medicines you no longer take or to purchase over the counter medicine such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc.  Medicines that you no longer take and are out of date are good to send also.  Since these people have never had medicine, even the lesser strength is helpful for them.  Tooth brushes and paste are good to send since these people have little chance to have any health care.  These medicines are checked and repackaged by a physician who will be traveling with them.
One of the greatest needs is dark glasses for both adults and children.  Because of the brightness of the sun many suffer from blindness.  These do not need to be expensive, and the children love the bright colors.
Bring your gifts for Medical Mission to the January luncheon, and since Janet doesn't leave until the summer, we can give additional supplies later.
Anyone in the church who would like to be a part of this project is invited to bring items to church and they will be added to the box.
