QUADRENNIAL REPORT
International Christian Women's Fellowship Quadrennial Assembly was held in Louisville, Kentucky. Our name tags had several ways to pronounce Louisville. There were women from all over the world in attendance. With our reservations we were given a necklace symbolizing our theme, "O God, make us Ambassadors of reconciliation in this fragmented World! Reshape us! Renew us! Unleash us!" The women from Vietnam Co-op made tote bags for us. One young girl, 17, from Eugene, Oregan, said "I like being around all these strong women, its empowering. We're the next generation of church women and we have to be active to help the church continue into the future." Sandi Patty, Contemporary Christian Recording artist entertained us one evening. Another day we wore black in solidarity with women across the world. Many wore black every day witnessing to grief for themselves and other victims of violence. The sock and underware collection for girls netted 161,408. It had been suggested each of us bring a cup containing something about our own blessings. We gathered in a room to exchange cups and get acquainted. My new acquaintance left the room because it was so crowded, and I ran into her so we exchanged cups. She was a nurse, from the Central Christian Church in Texarkan. Two cute cards were in the cup "Know what? God's not the only one who loves you!" And the second one read, "A friendship in the Lord is the very nicest kind." The next Quadrennial will be in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2006. Erma Fields
